Culture Japan Con is Nearly Here!

Yes folks, just another week to go (17th and 18th August 2013) before CJC is held in the Pearl of the Orient, Pulau Pinang. And because of this, Pulau Pinang Global Tourism held a press conference to promote the event, which will be helmed by popular blogger and Japanese culture media ambassador, Danny Choo. Also there in the press conference was Danny’s father, the famous shoe maker Datuk Jimmy Choo, who originally came from Penang.

As we had posted before, there are a lot of activities to look forward to during this two day event, as well as a lot of prizes to be won, the most interesting one would be a lucky draw contest where a lucky visitor would win two tickets to Tokyo courtesy of Air Asia.

Also there would be exclusive, CJC only goodies, such as limited edition TnG cards, that can only be bought at the event. These cards features some of the most iconic places in Penang, and are illustrated by long time Mirai artist, Ikkyu. And if you are lucky, you could win yourself a limited edition TnG card, that can’t be bought, and can only be won at CJC. You just need to join some events or panel to stand a chance to win this card

All the guests and VIPs would have their own panel session, and for the first time in Asia, Danny will also showcase his Smart Doll that he manufactured himself. The smart doll, which was born out of an April Fool Joke is an android controlled doll that he would hope be an important part of everyone’s home. It looks just like an ordinary doll, except that you can interact with it, and it’s really cool to watch.

Also announced at the Press Con was Danny’s commitment on doing any future Culture Japan Convention in Penang, although he is also planning to hold one in Singapore if there is enough interest to warrant it.
